i wonder what it would take to truly break the whole 'trinity' player archetypes within mmorpgs. guild wars 2 tried, and did an admirable job, but at the same time it also has its caveats that i couldnt have expected them to learn without trying, but it clearly shows that trying to recreate the system without changing enough will leave it wanting and a bit awkward. even more recently, that new world or whatever mmo completely decided to shift entirely to the trinity during alpha.
